Ruby Penthouse—the prized jewel in Sydney’s Harbourside crown.
Realised by Fortis and architect Pete Kennon, Ruby Penthouse stands as Double Bay's architectural trophy, unprecedented in scale. Materials chosen for their integrity. Details resolved with quiet intent. A home built not for spectacle, but for privacy and permanence.

Ruby Penthouse, Double Bay
Ruby Penthouse sits atop the village. Made from stone, the residence is anchored to its place.
The design gestures to the function of an art gallery, whereby spaces connect, yet are separated through blades and the careful control of proportion. Kennon recalls the experience of being within Constantin Brancusi’s studio in Paris, where sculptural objects are layered with natural materials, and depth is found in its curation—referencing sculptural forms, proportion, and balance.
These ideas are expressed architecturally through vaulted volumes and a restrained, honest material palette of limestone. A quiet sense of luxury is achieved through tone and texture—rather than excess.
